I have been working as an artist blacksmith in Fife for the past 15 years or so. I have been privileged to work on a wide variety of projects and commissions. All my work is designed specifically to suit the individual character of each location into which it will be situated. I have accepted commissions from all over the British Isles.
After leaving Glasgow University with an MA in Medieval History and after much soul searching to find out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life, I decided to try a in career metalwork. That decision was made in 2000. I was most fortunate to encounter a superb Mentor in artist and blacksmith Roddy Mckerracher. Roddy taught me until his death in 2007 though I feel I am still learning from him now. I have immense gratitude for his efforts and would like to think that he would approve of the work I have gone on to do in his absence, none of which would have been remotely possible without his contribution.
I love the work that I do and enjoy the challenges that inevitably arise in the process of designing, manufacturing and installing my pieces. I have a wealth of experience in designing work which fully integrates and enhances each unique environment.
The forge is well equipped with a large variety of old and modern tools and machines which I have invested in over the years. Together with my colleagues, Tina and Simon, we have built a thriving business.
